True about higher prices sometimes, but the yellow pages online can give you leads on repair shops.

Be aware a leaking water pump gasket is more than likely a bad water pump.

I've given up on fixing the truck until monday.

First time I've cried since I began trucking was when I tried to back into a parking space at the Love's in Joseph City, AZ. I crossed a snowstorm at night, was tired, and could not get setup properly to back into a spot. Fourth day as solo driver for Swift made it too obvious.

Second time was when I took my 2 chihuahuas to be euthanized back in february - one for heart issues and the other for intestinal failure. I haven't been able to overcome their loss yet even after all this time.

Today's the third time, out of desperation of being here 6 days. Hurricane Sandy, issues with the consignee, coolant leaking from the water pump, and faulty batteries - its just to much for my patience to bear. This makes it one month being away from home and the only thing keeping me from killing myself is the fact that my mom and dad are waiting for me at home in el paso.

My purgatory hopefully ends on monday...

Hope things get better but only you can do that, I think every person has had a moment or two where we have to get things out of our system.

My thoughts exactly. In a pinch like that, I'd buy a tube of that permatex form-a-gasket. Pull the water pump off, scrape off the old gasket, squeeze a bead of the form-a-gasket on there & put it back together. Top off the antifreeze and you're ready to roll. When you get it back to the shop, you can redo the job with the "proper" gasket...or just leave the tube-o-goo gasket in there for a while if you don't feel like tearing into it again.

I really don't care what happens...I'm not sitting around at the same place for a week anywhere other than the house.

Does Walmart sell class 8 truck batteries? Searched the forum and found that someone mentioned that they do. There is a super Walmart nearby in Trenton and I was thinking of getting a cab to take me there to purchase 4 of them tomorrow.

Petro shop said that the cheapest batteries available are 730 CCA for $181 after tax(truck has 700 CCA).
