Sooooo, 2 stop load.
dropped first (according to bols and loader, this was to be 2 pallets)
2nd stop 600 miles away we find the first stop bol had buried in it that it was 3 pallets to go to stop 1
Im now stuck in fargo nd with 1 pallet 18 foot long, 4 foot wide and about 2 foot tall.
Broker says shes working on it, it was the original shipper that screwed up, (ill own that i dont know how to read this shippers jargony way of describing peice counts, but their handwritten stuff said only 2 skids at stop 1, and those 2 had the stop written on it as well as verbally being told only those 2 pallets came off)
got a load i cant put this on top of or under to pickup.
So what can i do?
Resourceful "git er done" me says i strap it to the bottom of my trailer (its light, 3500 lbs) and squeeze anything i can outta original shipper, return load is only 150 miles extra to roll up through chicago to deliver that skid.
But what should i REALLY do here? I have about 30 minutes before i have to cancel my return or do something, and im not about to just throw away this skid of stuff either....
Stuck with 1 pallet (4'x 18')

If shipper admits fault get them to pay you to send it back to stop 1. I’d also find another LTL load going on the way it possible make some extra money off their mistake.
Puppage Thanks this. -
Oh snap I missed the part where you already had a load waiting on you that can’t fit with the first one. That’s a tough pickle.

Sucks but I would be asking to get paid to go back for just the one skid. Hopefully it is better than the other load would have cost. Or see if the second stop can hold it for the broker if same company and ship out at a later date.

Broker was able to pull strings and get em to unload me 1.5 hrs after they told me they couldnt...
It helped that i was able to clearly show what happened and why and the broker was willing to listen to what happened and take documentation fast via cell msgs
And it was further helped that the load had 2 stops but both were the same company.
Sooo it cost me time and having to load in sub zero temps instead of 17 degrees....
It gained me.... an appreciation of good brokers that work with you, and cold fingersRedForeman, Dino soar, omardten and 7 others Thank this. -
You got lucky today. Congrats.
