Tired of the same old commercial eating places. Drive into the Stuckey's on I-24 exit 127, Pelham,Tn.. They have a grill. Have breakfast, or hamburger for lunch like they used to make them. Nice clean place to rest and grab a bite. And don't forget to pickup a pecan log for the road......lol. Sounds like an advertisement. I stop by every time I head towards Chattanooga,TN. They will be celebrating 50 years doing business soon!

They are a nationwide chain. They use to be real popular when I was a kid. They kind of dwindled over the years as the owners kick. The burgers and shakes are good. I always buy a certain candy I grew up with when traveling. They are a white chewy candy with different colored chewy specs in them? Kind of like a taffy. Every time I see that candy I think of Stuckey's and vise versa.

Stuckey's always reminds me of pecan logs and of the family vacays we took to Florida when I was a tyke. Went into one in Acworth, Ga a few years back and it wasn't the same, as it felt like a corporate store; it had no "mom and pop" feel.

Do they still sell those little model log trucks?

I haven't seen any of the log trucks. This Stuckey's will remind you of the good ole days. It still looks the same inside. See the old pictures on the wall. Plenty of pecan logs. I remember my father buying the banana chips and sesame stix. This Stuckey's was built back in 1965 when I-24 first opened. I spoke to the manager who had recently retired. He said he worked for Mr.Stuckey for years down in Georgia. Lot of history and memories at this location.slomocopshow Thanks this.

I think those are jelly nougats...at least that's what Brach's calls them...may be a different name at Stuckey's. Yep, they're good, too.

i remember stuckeys fondly from my first trip to Fla with my family probably around 1964. But it is so true you can't go back again I tried to eat at one last week and wound up back at the TS better off saving stuckey's as a memory

If you ever head down I-24 exit -127. Try that Stuckey's. They really do a good job. Milk shakes are really good. Take a break in the rocking chairs on the front porch. It's still run by Americans. Funny how so many people expierenced stopping at Stuckey's on their way to Florida......lol

Wondering if any of you see any original Stuckey's stores open while your traveling? I know the one on I-24 Pelham,Tn is still open. At the foot of Monteagle Mtn..
