well at least Saftey has their head on straight...and not just take the calls at face value...There are quite a few ####### out there that have cell phones that believe we can just move over at on ramps...or that we are a hazard cause we are cruzin at 61 and the speed limit is 70 lol...or the fact that we have to take some really wide turns to fit down the streets of New England...(have I mentioned lately I hate going there...)

You ARE a hazard cruising at 61 when the speed limit is 70 . At least 5 research studies have concluded that . That is why ATA was denied a petition to mandate speed limiters on trucks even though over 3,000 comments to the NHTSA supported it .
The comments were a great display of ignorance . Not a single one could provide data to support the petition . There were fewer , but relevant comments opposing that mentioned the studies I mentioned above .
To carriers wanting to quote cheap rates fuel economy takes priority over safety .

So then the government should just lower speed limits again and start ticketing heavily. Would cure the problem of the road hazard. Remember 55 limits? Not saying I want this, but that would be the direction they'd go to make it "safer" for everyone...
