Not even sure if somebody can help. But I am student driver who started practicing driving around the town and on the interstate. For some reason, when it comes to downgrades, sharp turns, or anything that requires downshifting for that matter, I get nervous as hell and screw up. Sometimes I go right when I'm told left or straight LOL, I have way more bad day's than good. This is the first time I did not become good at something after a few try's. I'm not thinking about quitting or anything because I was nervous when I first learned up shifting and backing and that came along. Any advice on the nervous shenanigans? Thanks.

It'll come to you I was sorta afraid of down grades as far as corners you just need to learn your downshifts and take your time at the end of the day I would rather sit at a turn for 5 min then risk an accident
Danacrogers Thanks this. -
Thanks It will come together.

Try not to think about it as opposed to just...do it. I dont know if that makes sense? I notice if I think and put all my concentration on something , I make it worse , I just need to kick back and let it naturaly happen

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense, funny thing is, I thought of that analogy then I say "wait a minute this is a big as truck I better think about it" LOL. Good advice tho. It makes sense.

Just relax and take your time driver. I highly doubt your instructor is pushing you to speed up, and if he is, you're at the wrong place. Nothing wrong with going at a speed you're comfortable with. Just remind yourself about this when you get nervous---------YOU CAN TAKE A TURN TOO SLOW A MILLION TIMES, BUT ONLY ONCE TOO FAST
Danacrogers, rdean1109, AndrewMemphis and 2 others Thank this. -
Hang in man,it'll get easier. Some nerves are a good thing,as it'll keep you alert (complancancy while piloting anything, let alone 80,000 lbs is not a good thing) And remember, next time your nerves are about to get the best of you, you're not making medicine for terminally sick kids here,so calm down.
Good luck and you'll be fine!!!
