Ok so I am going through Roadmaster in Jacksonville. I haven't got any prehires yet as I have only recently started school but I am going to be working on that here real shortly. If I had to pick a top 3 it would be in this order Knight, Roehl, and Schneider. (And for $h!t$ and giggles lets throw in comcar since they have a terminal in Jville as well.) I'm worried about 3 things: pay, hometime, and equipment. I figure I'd like to make some money though I don't expect to make a ton of it my first year, I'd like to be able to be home SOME to enjoy that money and newer equipment may keep me out of the repair shop and on the road more.

So what I want to know is what is your insights on how well these companies will pay me, what their home time is like, what is the quality of their trucks and trailers.

Stay away from comcar.....they pay very little....

check out Conway Truckload above avg starting pay 1st yr you should hit 37k-41k , good training program 4weeks /10k miles driving with a trainer besides you and then your solo
...they share the drop yard in JAX with the three you named...

dont know much about them and how the run out of North Fl but I'd prob rank them 1,2,3 in the reverse order that you listed ...

Schneider, Roehl, Knight, have different divisions such as van, reefer, flatbed, tanker. You can change divisions and remain with the same company without interferring with your 401K or seniority, etc. It's something to consider.

Need to check out Roehl's new pay plan and see if it fits you. It is based on your performance as a driver. As a new inexperienced driver you have a few months to get organized then you can earn higher pay than just a "time with company" program. All based on your performance like on time delivery/PU, drops/hooks, etc. Contact a recruiter.

Agree with the person who posted about Conway, they are a cut above the 3 you mentioned. If that doesn't work out then I would go to Schneider.

I've driven for 2 of the 3. I would say SNI as the company is larger, covers more of the US than the other 2, has every division and many dedicated accounts. Just my opinion.

Drove for them for 2 years. I also did the 7/7 fleet. Not too bad but they left a sour taste in my mouth
