Ok I'm going to be a bit rude but very upfront with you. You shouldn't put up with this. 6 days with no shower? Taking a crap in the garbage can in the truck? Grow some and demand that you be given another trainer.

Your trainer is not a real trainer. He is a dirtbag that is making a lttle extra money while you drive his assigned truck. The only learning that will take place is what you pull out of it, and what ever techniques he forces upon you. Why are you sleeping in a hot truck? He needs to brush up on the idle laws. Dump him, and at least get a driver that will shower once in awhile. If your tng manager wont reassign, then dump the company and go somewhere else. Good luck, and keep those wheels turn'n!!!

    You call this lucky?

Seriously the first time I would be yelled at or called stupid, I would walk out of the truck with the keys and tell the company to stick it. If you expect to be called stupid or yelled at, you have a problem with yourself and a lack of self-respect.

Sorry but you are the problem with this industry, you need to tell your trainer that you are not going to go more than a day without proper hygiene and stick to it, if he doesn't like it, tell him to complain to the company.

Subway isn't bad IF you select the right sub and eat properly, but watch the idiot behind the counter making the sub, they are usually dumber than a cat turd and don't care about their job so you may end up with shorted meat, bad lettuce and a bunch of other problems. So tell them if you don't like what you see. By the way, complaining to Subway is like complaining to a dog, he will look at you like he understands but doesn't really understand nor care.

As for other things, eat well and you will do well too.

This is about keeping clean, I can't stand when a driver smells like crap and his seat does too. I got a chance to visit a new Cascadia a few weeks ago and the driver stunk so bad I couldn't enter the cab, his seat smelled like he took a dump in it and I knew it was the seat by just opening the door. This is where a shower keeps that controlled.

That can would be out of the cab when I would stop for fuel, there is no ******* way I would have it in my truck or a truck I am riding in for any reason. It is not just disgusting but also allows some really nasty stuff to live there which can effect your long term health.

You can eat for less than 10 a day, some I know do well under 7 and they eat well but they don't do the truck stop sloop food tour but hit walmart. If the idiot trainer won't let you stop, complain to the company, and complain loud.

Glad I am not the guy hiring and firing at that company, I would have fired the trainer for this idiocy.

See YOU are missing an important point, that if you scratch yourself or pick up a bug at the ultra-sanitized truck stop toilet facilities (that was sarcastic seriously wash your hands) or even food poisoning with a sub made from one of them top sub artists, you are going to be in a world of hurt because showers are very important top fight these problems and keeping clean is, especially in an environment like a truck where you are living with a stranger will help you deal with sickness.

Went to the Koolatron website; sounds like a good cooler. I'm thinking about getting a Dometic/Waeco Freezer too and stocking it with frozen meals. Do trucks have 2 DC outlets generally, or 3?

To expand on what some of the others have already posted, cereal is an inexpensive meal. You can buy a bag of disposable bowls (picnic type stuff) and a box of plastic spoons at the dollar store for cheap. You can buy a pint of milk almost anywhere -- truckstops, convenience store, grocery store. You can even buy a small container of milk in fast food places. Add your cereal and you have a quick meal and this can be done even without a cooler or refrigerator.

Some truckers are just plain FILTHY pigs , see them whine about $5.00 / shower but drop $40.00 in the claw game trying to win a $2.00 stuffed bear.

A laid back trainer is not doing you any favors if he runs things like the 1 that the OP described.
