I apologize in advance if this is on the wrong thread.
I'm currently a student looking into companies to join and I was wondering if it is possible to hire in another state right out of school?
Example being I'd like to move to Florida, I currently reside in Michigan.
Should I just ask recruiters if that's possible or should I hire in state and attempt to relocate/ transfer in that company at a later date? Thanks for any advice.

You look on each company's website and see their hiring area's. Find you one that hires in both states and then moving shouldn't be a problem at a later date.
FL isn't the best trucking state tucked way down there in the corner. Alot of freight going in and not much coming out. Most of their freight is seasonal or you deadhead north. Many companies don't like to hire out of FL. But there are a few that do.
When you are young, FL is fun. But it ain't a state you want to bury your roots in. I lived in both Orlando and West Palm Beach and had a great time. If I done it again, I would try Tampa.Kryptis Thanks this. -
Thank you for the reply, I have been in Florida a lot in my years and have just decided my time in Michigan is just about over. I've considered other southern states but just have the most personal knowledge in Florida.
It appears hiring in here and moving via transfer is the easiest way to do it. Thanks again. -
check out some of these companies with terminals in Fl...Indian River, Heyl, Crete, Schaeffer, Oakley, and I think Quality carriers. Also get some of the magazines looking for drivers at your local truckstop....good luck
