Most companies you apply for don't want you to get it on your own. The insurance companies give them a break for students from approved schools. If you are playing on working for a company that you have connections with then it is great to just go get your license.
You can take the written as many as 5 times in one day. If you can read English, it should be no problem for you. The part most have trouble with is the weight limits. Once you start driving you find out you pick up that easy. Or pay a fine.Mattchu Thanks this. -

Lots of tests, lots of reading to do here
Now that thats covered, I hope you have found a company that will hire you taking the cheaper, quicker route. PLEASE do not waste the time playing around if you do not have a company interested in you for HIRE!!! DO NOT take the school's word for it! Find an employer who will hire you before going to step B.Mattchu Thanks this. -
this site has good practice test its the only ones i used, lots of question on my cdl exam were the same as on here

the tests are standardized to some extent at the actual testing locations but do what FozzyNOK says as I spent some time digging on the web and so on and now know that some of that was wasted but the questions - and much other material provided here - will save you boockoo bux ... find some company that will do the school as a "training program" even though you might find some good schools ~ some of the experienced here seem to say to do it at a junior college but I would look for companies that are actually running operations
Mattchu Thanks this.
