And you drill a hole in someone elses truck because you're to lazy to stick the cooler in the door and open the drain plug? WHY? OH! It's NOT your truck if you are doing an L/P untill the title is in your hands! PoPo happens and the next moron to do the lease on thast POS nightmare you tried to "setup" might not want holes drilled in the floor and in the dash and they might want that desk or closet you threw out so you could build a useless computer tower rack or some other silly crap like the "musician" who had his guitar amp set up on the wall!
As you can tell, I can not stand anyone that damages another's truck that costs more than that trailer or house you live in. It's NOT your playground! And that remark I made about lease drivers, well, I've seen trucks that looked like a wanna be engineer was turned loose in it and he screwed up whatever it was he wanted to do and then lost the lease on the POS and now it's someone elses headache as BFI Leasing isn't going to repair OR reduce the cost on that junker!
I even saw where a female who had to have a months + worth of clothing drill a 2" hole in the side of the passenger closet and another in the back wall of the truck to put a Walley world curtain rod in to hang her clothes on. Well she DID seal the hole in the back of the truck with clear sealant! She did not get her escrow back when she gave up on the fleece deal with that genus move! I've seen men do things just as stupid! Besides those who do leases aren't at the top of the food chain anyway or swimming in the safe side of the gene pool! Heck if you need all that crap then go get a freaking RV and start from there!
My dad taught me way back when that when I give something back that I borrowed (company or lease) you give it back in the same or better condition than when it was given to me!
Now, if you're in a Freightliner look under the carpet under the drivers side desk. see the nice 1" hole already made with a plastic plug in it? Or in the bottom of the closet on the passenger side. Use them to drain the cooler as well that is where the cooler sets anyway if the plastic base is still there. There is one in the center of the storage under the bunk in Peterbilts and I think a Volvo. To locate these pre made holes in the floor of a truck will requite you to get adventurous and crawl under your truck and look up at the floor and you can't miss the plugs sticking out! This is also a good time to get familiar with what is under your truck! How wiring, air lines, coolant/heating lines and fuel lines are run and attached and will give you a general idea of where the transmission is located! Not to mention you do need to do a u joint check anyway so while you're down there check it! Your trainer DID show you didn't he? I hope he did! If not why is he a trainer?
Oh don't take the plug out and throw the thing away! Take that box knife that should be in your tool bag and make a star shaped cut in it so that you can put your drain hose or inverter cables in it and it'll still keep most of the rain water off the road out of the truck! It'll also keep them from getting cut by the sharp edges of the hole in the floor!
This hole is where I bring my cables in for my inverter and for those of you who work for a real company that knows if a circuit breaker is put on the cables the truck won't burn down! Swift and a few of the other major companies have no clue sometimes as to how to install something that could save the one person who actually makes the money they put in their pockets time and aggregation! I love the college educated morons who run trucking companies as they wasted their mommies money and took a space a real student need to learn and retain all that learning! Such a good waste of resources! OH! All the engine manufactures and Truck Dealer Shops will tell you that an inverter properly installed will not cause CPU problems or burn a truck down! They'll just drain the life out of your batteries! This is one reason companies don't like them as drivers "forget" to turn them off when parked and yep jump time and after a certain amount of time the batteries die from over discharging! Batteries are not cheap and a lot of drivers do not understand that you are NOT getting something for nothing with inverters! For you L/P drivers if that truck has a battery separator circuit then what you need to do is get a high amperage deep cycle battery. Kinda like the ones you have on your bass boat! These batteries are made to be discharged for running such things as coolers, trolling motors and other such things! And you company drivers could ask if you could buy one for your ruck for your inverter. You'd be surprised if the company turned you down when you explain to them the advantages of YOU paying for the battery and how it will extend the discharge time and can stop the cost of a jump if you don't have cables they'll just love it! Especially if it means you'll be in the truck more, fed correctly when laid up at a dock and won't be sitting in the restaurant eating and yada yada yada!

just get an inverter that uses alligator clips. slip them out the door clip them on and away you the Volvo's are great because the fairings hide the wires, just make sure when you come in unclip. nobody knows! dry erase markers are needed also. those qc directions are hard to see while driving. write them on the glass up high and you have them right in front and away you go! I will right each days directions before I take off with fuel stops and final stop marked so I can Plan Ahead for those events. dry erase wipes right off and you can see thru it. DOT seen mine once laughed and said he didn't think swift had a driver smart enough to do that! Oh well! insulted again.

werner lol. Speak of the devil my new dispatcher just called about my idle time. I am at a terminal have been since yesterday. He was like why don't you go inside and not idle the truck. I was they keep kicking me in and out of my truck. He was like then call me next time if your going to be overnight I can get you a hotel room. I was like ok well if I am not getting my truck back before tonight then I need a solo room as this is a solo truck. He said speaking of which call this guy to see if you can team with him because you still have 1 and a half months left on your team commitment. DOH! I will call him later to tell him sorry not compatible. He will ask why. I will say sorry just not going to work out.

I just thought of two mandatory...must have....can't do without items for your (new to you) truck:
FLYSWATTER AND A BACK SCRATCHER
both can be found and purchased in a dollar store...which means....Macy's for the Swift driver!
outerspacehillbilly and JustSonny Thank this. -
Why pay extra for a back scratcher. That is the secondary use of the fifth wheel release lever puller. 'course you just might have to rub the grease off the puller, before you use it as a back scratcher.
Also, the tire thumper works very well as a "lumper thumper," too. You have to save money where you can! -
Lumpers are funny and my dispatcher is too honest (in this case) I was unloading at Piggy Wiggly. Needed to pay the lumpers. Got the check. Went inside got my signed bills. Pulled out of dock empty trailer. So I call dispatch and say I got an empty trailer and signed bills. He says ok then send your empty call. I say but wait theres more. I still have the lumpers check in my hand should I just leave? He pauses for a sec and says no you all ready have the check might as well give it to them. DOH!!!! Here I am trying to save the company thier $75 dollars and he says no.
I thought my truck stop directory was a good fly swatter.
Back scratcher hmm I just use the steps on my truck or the corner of my trailer.JustSonny Thanks this. -

I was testing my new dispatcher with that one. Hints why I called him instead of using the QC.
Did anyone mention Truckstop directory yet?
And a car charger for his phone?
Also a small inverter for your laptop,BOB,and a small fan.
I got my lumper thumper but now I need to find a tire tumper.
the little aluminum bat sucks at tires can only hear the metal ringing.JustSonny Thanks this.
