Well, first of all my truck doesn't go to California for any reason, so I could care less about what their issues are with gliders.
As far as i know its illegal to delete the DPF off an engine that was manufactured with it, but nowhere can I find a law that says I can't put an older engine into a newer truck frame.
Please site an actual law because I can't find one (again, don't care about Kalifornia junk)
I would consider an N14 though, just to make sure the electronics match up better or at all, I like my cruise control and engine brake on the steering column...
Dealer refuses to do an engine swap to a D16 EGR from the DPF. They will however do a level 3 rebuild for a cool 39k. A 3/4 rebuild (basically everything reman except the long block) is even more.
Stuffing a 3406E Cat (possible C-15) into a Volvo VN880?

I've been told by a DOT officer that CARB has no authority to stop you. If you pull in, they have you. If you keep going, nothing will happen. CARB wanted the DOT to do their work at the scales, but were told no, so they typically set up on the property after the scale. I should add that I have not tested this. lolOxbow and maconhadalata Thank this.

none...my friend has a columbia with a 99 s60 went thru dot inspections with no problems
-
What does that mean @maconhadalata ?

my friend has a 2006 columbia with a 99 detroit S 60... got pulled over in winconsin for DOT inspection , they just asked to see the labvel on the engine to make sure was 99 or older .is not illegal or anything...people tend to think that is illegal but is not.

Ok. The 2006 did not come equipped with a DPF. Is he on paper logs?
-
Yep. Paper logs. That was the point buying that truck.
