Parts of south Dakota used to have "no thro trucks" sign posted on some county roads. No weight limits posted. What the heck qualifies as a through truck?

One which is not picking up, delivering, or going home in the local vicinity.

I’m thinking one might mean no THRU trucks, while the other gives the weight limits IF you have a delivery or pickup on that street.

could be for local deliveries only, and no driving thru the area on that road.

would just be better to post a sign, "local deliveries only" then the weight limits next to it.

That would be a lot less confusing.

I know. I don't feel guilty or ashamed, though.

But how many furlongs, fortnights, or fathoms are in a metric “tonne”? :biggrin_25523:
