Didn't say he was at fault, but a pro would check his mirror first. You do on right turns, not left?

Its a French Canadian safety ad for tv... Similar to the American safety adds about texting and driving, where the driver looks down for a few seconds to text then looks back up and CRASH. Whats the difference?? They are both safety ads showing hypothetical crashes.

Best part is the kids backpack falling out and weight dropping on screen in the french ad.. If parents think about it they could smarten up for a few weeks till natural behaviour kicks back in

I understand it add and hypothetical. Just imagine this situation is real and truck equipped with camera facing in. Car driver initiate whole mess but they always have excuses. Truck driver to avoid crash grabbed trolley stick so only trailer brakes used. It's enough to switch the blame on truck driver. Advertising wrong technique should never be on TV or only with comments DON"T DO IT.

Ok I see what you mean there. But he obviously locked up the service brakes as well, which can be seen in the next second of ad... The drive tires are locked up and skidding.

So I agree that the technique is not that which I would use... However the principle of the ad is still very strong. With a few changes this could be the best safety ad on tv. One that demonstrates the power these truck can unleash when put in bad situations and that people need to give us some space to work with and maneuver, for everyone's safety.

Places/states gave drivers ed in school the axe because they don't have the money for it. Nothing good will come of that.

Some people need to be told to be aware of whats is happening around them. o_O
