Subcontracting Drivers

    Companies that do this are in serious danger of running afoul of the IRS. Having a 1099 driver in a truck that is company owned and dispatched is a recipe for disaster somewhere down the road. The bottom line is if you are going to hire an "employee" to drive your truck then they are exactly that. I think it's thinly veiled tax evasion and I think the IRS would agree.

    I agree... several companies around San Antonio do this regularly... and they need to get on the IRS bandwagon with the rest of us.

    RC International, for one.
