the problem is that people living out of truck end up working for peanuts. .. its said what most drivers consider a good paycheck these days.

Homeless people will take any job at any rate. They would accept $.15 a mile if offered.
Yes , people need PERMANENT work. Wannabes going to starter companies are too foolish to realize 100% turnover means this will be a temporary job for most of them.
    Low pay allows low rates.

Isn't that the truth though.I have yet to find a company that pays what I consider decent. Companies know this and know workers are at their mercy.Anymore ppl will take what they can get and be lucky they have a job.I have never considered my pay checks good but more like adequit to pay bills.

it's the economy that is running trucking into the ground, so many people out of work and desperate just to make a dollar.

    I will give an example...

I know a driver with L/S that has nothing in his life. All he has is the road, his tractor and his dog.He lives in his truck.I have a ''life'' outside the cab of a truck,i need to make decent money to keep it going..We call this the ''American Dream''..

This man is my compitition. He can take that 1.20 mile load and i can't.He has no worries in life. His only worry is DOG FOOD for the dog..Do you see what i mean..I have to wait for the 2.00 mile load.

Agents,Brokers and company owners depend on this type of person. They love these guys and make MILLIONS off these people.

Years ago trucking was set up for people to make good money, work hard and bring it home to the wife and kids.We all had homes and the kids had a savings for school..We worked hard and WENT HOME with good money..We had toys and the wife and kids had a roof over there head. They had something to call home and had a MOMMY and a DADDY..

Today people are looking at trucking all wrong. They see this as a PLACE TO LIVE..?..This is absurd.!!!! IMO..I for one can not wrap my head around this and i never will...

A 100% turnover rate should be a wake up call for anyone.Which is also the reason why so many fail.I do have empathy for this poster and would like to see him get back on his feet..Consider his size trk driving may not be the right fit for him.But there has to be something out there.I have never been homeless.Unfortunately many ppl are and many have families living on the streets. It truly brks my heart. If its not drug or alcohol related I don't care why the person got fired.Just that he needs our help. There are shelters that will take him in which me be his only avenue right now.
