Hubby and I stopped last evening at a Pilot in Higginsville, MO, and went into the Subway shop for some eats.

Being on a "healthy living" kick, I ordered their "Orchard Chicken Salad", on a bed of lettuce (instead of the fattening bread, right? LOL).

Anyway, I had them add some banana pepper rings, a lil onion, and a bit of shredded cheese.

We get back to the truck, I dig into this delicious-looking salad, only to find that MOST of the cubed chicken in the chicken salad is, in fact, NOT chicken....it is cubed POTATOES!!! :biggrin_2556:

Apparently, they have cut these potatoes to the exact same size as they do the chicken. My guess is, to disguise the fact that their CHICKEN salad is NOT too much chicken, using POTATO as "filler", because they are being CHEAP b^$!@rd$ !!!!:biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513:

So much for my trying to eat healthy at Subway, and actually getting what I paid for!!:biggrin_25521:

I just hate this, because I used to think SUBWAY was the greatest of all the fast foods. But I just won't go their anymore. I have seen way too many of the places that are just filthy. And so is their help.

I actually thought about a SUBWAY franchise at one time. I'm glad I avoided making that mistake. Trying to find decent help at the salaries they have to pay is almost impossible. Even in this down economy.

There was a time that SUBWAY maintained hard standards in their franchisee's establishments. Apparently they haven't done this for the last 15 years or so.

There is a franchise subshop in WI called Cousin's. They use to have a double cheese steak sub that was cooked on the grilled. It was the bomb, not anymore. They microwave the meat/cheese now and the double is not on the menu. To top it off, the bread looks like hotdog bun now. I will not give them anymore of my business. :biggrin_25513:

Contact Subway corporate customer service. I found the link but I can't post URLs here. So, go to Goggle and type in Subway and customer and service and form.

Tell them you are not amused and tell them you posted your concerns on a trucking forum website.

Judi contact the corporate offices. I've had the chicken salad and it had NO potato in it at all. I think it may just be that particular location stretching it's overhead.

    Thanks, HFC and Nana.
I worked at a Subway store once, and I am pretty certain that this was an isolated thing. Most, if not all, Subway stores are independently owned franchises, so it more than likely is a case of that particular store trying cut down on costs....

I will be contacting corporate about this store.

Was gonna say who the heck puts potato's in chicken salad? GROSS! I was born and raised and still live in potato country and love my spuds as much as anyone but not in my chicken salad.
