Suffolk and Norfolk VA, Truck Stops

Well do not expect anything grand at those places. Dirt lot mainly. The front at Charlies in asphalt, but do not eat the food there. Showers well, they have cleaned them some over the years, but it's a shower, if you really need one.
Walk up to Wendy's to eat or across the road is a nice steakhouse or down the street a little is Waffle house. Allways good for a few laughs

Franks, have'nt been there in years, but watch going over the RR tracks to the main lot to park. Again a dirt lot

 

I typically go to Big Charlie's. Never had a problem, just don't eat there. You might find a spot in the back in the sort that late, but you'll probably just have to make your own. Plenty of restaurants in immediate area.

 

I agree with Glock, We were there in Sept. I think it was. No more working ladies and just a few of the moving guys looking for work. They do charge to park, so they may hit you up on that, if they do not see your sticker in the window.
Again do not eat there.

 

The Wilco Hess is reasonable... they do have DD. The back lot (behind the scales) usually has some open parking late at night.

 

Good luck finding parking late a night Charlie's , I always had morning app, at the navel place near there. But it wAs always full till all those places starting letting trucks roll on to their lot, I think most of them would only let you check in a hour before appt.

 

I don't remember the name of it but there's a small truck stop on 460 in Ivor, VA with paved parking. It's about 20 miles west of Suffolk.

That Wilco Hess is nice. It has the Big Apple restaurant. That whole are is military and safe.

 

Big Charlie's is the one in military hwy? Or us that franks either way the one with the Wendy's out front the food isn't bad. They have Indian food if you like that. I got the curry and was impressed.

 

That's the only type of food to get there then. I'd rather walk to Hardee's or Wendy's than try again.
