Honey is too rich for my system, and no matter what I do to oatmeal, it still tastes like ground up drywall. While we are all making a big to-do about sugar, we are dancing around a much bigger health concern, salt. We can limit sugar to an extent, but salt is in everything. We get enough salt for a lifetime in 3 days, and not much can be done about it. Peanut butter too. Did you know, peanuts are the most over-processed food we have? I can't eat regular peanut butter anymore, and dang if I'm going to spend $9 bucks on that so called "natural" kind, that's probably Skippys rejects anyway. The food industry is probably the biggest scam we have next to auto parts today. One must be cautious. Look at the labels, recognize anything? I think we are truly being poisoned, not intentionally, but this is what it takes to feed a world. Most processed foods in the freezer aisle, despite the small portions, all of it makes me sick. I'm better off with Entenmanns donuts,,,mmmm, Entenmanns,,anyway, my point is, can't win, don't try, and go with what works.

Too much sugar puts me in a sleep coma, even to much syrup knocks the wind out of my cells.
Growing up we had our own beef, pork, chicken, eggs, milk, butter, & cornmeal / flour. I still have and use the gristmill I grew up with, and make our own cornmeal still to this day as well as use it for demonstrations at our local antique tractor show which I’m the founder and president of since 2007. I clean the mill yearly and grind local corn for our meal.
Uncle that raised me was a self employed water well driller, I cut my teeth on a 1940’s Bucyrus Erie 20W drilling rig that was all friction drive for the sand reel as well as the bull wheel. Catheads along with a 1” Manila rope was used for hoisting the casing, then in later years uncle bought a 22W with a 3rd line.
That said, city water is something I feel is full of more than they claim it is chemical wise and just as bad as to much salt or sugar…..

It's a myth that came out of the idea that if cancer needs glucose to grow, then cutting sugar will starve cancer cells. Sugar fuels all cells, including cancer. But it doesn't make cancer grow any faster. Your body also needs glucose to function.
What’s the link between sugar and cancer?
Sugar and cancer – what you need to know
There’s no evidence that following a “sugar-free” diet lowers the risk of getting cancer, or that it boosts the chances of surviving if you are diagnosed.
The only reason to avoid eating tons of sugar is that it leads to obesity and obesity is linked to 13 types of cancer, but not sugar itself.Last edited: Oct 22, 2024
