LTL carriers are usually a good starting place , but eventually you learn that LTL also means when it comes to trucking

Unfortunately if I read your question correctly... Making a "LOT" of money just comming out of school isnt going to happen. Most of the places are going to start you on the low end of the pay scale unfortunately. Some companies are probably going to make you go through some sort of probation period. As you get a little expierience under your feet things will start to change for you. Most companies want 2 years "expierience" before they will hire you... Another option for what it is worth and may be something to think about is try and find a company driver who is in a similar situation not wanting the time at home and is looking to run as a "TEAM" This will put some miles uner your feet, get you some expierience and at the end of a year, you can always start looking at other places. You can walk into "B" trucking company and told them you worked for "A" trucking company and have been running as a team for a year and you want to go solo. Read what some of the others have posted about the big ones like Swift, Schneider, ect... Form your own opinion and look into them, a lot of those companies will LOOOOOOOVE you if you tell them you dont give a rats butt about home time and just wanna drive. I wish you the best of luck on your search, just dont jump into the first truck that offers you the keys... Look around youll find what fits you.
