Alright, I do quite thorough research, but I have yet to find a compilation of serious tips for new drivers.
I would like this thread to be about tips for drivers; ranging from CDL gaining tips on pre-trip inspections, things to watch out for on the road, tips to making the most out of your career, proper CB etiquette, interacting with other drivers on the road, things NOT to do, how to handle being pulled over by police, truck stop weighing, or just good ole stories on the road from experienced/inexperienced drivers.
The two best ways to learn are by other's mistakes and your own. Share your mistakes with us. We are all brothers and sisters of the road, and it's Christmastime, so give your best to all those lonely road warriors out there and share!![]()

I'll start: In my experience, if a trucker is trying to pass you on the left and he is clear, flash your headlights on and off to signal when he has cleared the front of your vehicle to make it easier for him to shift back to the right lane.
-
That has been deemed to be UNACCEPTABLE in some schools today
and they are prohibited from doing it.
Also, in Canada, you can't flash your headlights so flash your brights IN THE DAYTIME ONLY and flash your marker lights at night. -
Really? Wow, learn something everyday=)

This may help you a bit. Lots of good information in there.

There maybe times when you don't want to tell a four wheeler what to do, the reasons are obvious. DANGER! If you send someone with a hand or light gesture they could bring a claim against you or your company.
However if you are going down the road and a truck passes, and it's your everyday set of circumstances. Then I say "Good manners are always in style"
Thank You & Merry Christmas
