New guy here. Just hot done with a cdl school a week ago and I have orientation on Tuesday with swift at there Syracuse terminal.
I've been lurking here for about a week and learned a lot of stuff ( also learned anti swift sentiment is high)
So figured after all the lurking I'd pop in and say hi
Edit: p.s anyone know if swift is running manuals or autos in there trucks? Tried searching but no luck yet

Best of luck to you. You'll do great!

Be careful what you say inside the truck, including on your phone; Swift can monitor your conversations inside the truck.
Of the dozens of companies available, how did you narrow it down to the company you chose?KriegHund and Boattlebot Thank this. -
I'll admit a lot of ignorance on my part. I had no idea how many company's out there paid or floated the bill to get your cdl. Earlier this week I talked to Jim palmer but they said they wouldent help me out on my contract. So I figure I'll do my time and move on.

Ok, you went to Swift school. That explains it.
Do you live in Syracuse?
It's never too early to start your backup plan. Some day you will want to move on, so start planning now and keep a list of good companies.Boattlebot Thanks this. -

Friend of mine owns an ice cream store in Rochester. Don't know the name of it or where it's located though, since I haven't been there.
Look at these:
Schuster - nations largest ice cream hauler
Britton Transport - small company with excellent reputation
Abilene Motor Express - trucks run 68 mph
Freymiller
J&R Schugel
If you like any of these, put them on your future plans list. -
