You sound like me seven years ago. I was a self employed programmer working from home and could see the monopolies taking over so before I lost money I gave it up and became a trucker. Companies that offer free schooling do it because they cannot get drivers on a good rep. Plus they know once you start they can screw you since you are in debt to them. Save up the money and go to a really good school. I went to a college where they taught me everything I needed to know so I was ready on the first day on the job.

 

The government has programs in many states that pay for school. Since trucking is a "high demand" job right now, it's on the list of school they pay for. You might have to jump through some hoops, but free school and no indentured servitude for a bad company is worth the effort. In Arizona it's called "one stop"
