You can take out one of the cabinets and maybe there would be room. I do the cooler-on-the-seat thing, its not ideal but it gets the job done.

Thanks ncdriver, I can buy myself a fridge and install, hopefully the company will allow, I also have one electric cooler, it helps a little, not ideal.
Some SC drivers as yourself mentioned about company hotels? SC has discount hotels, and the drivers can stay anytime when on the road? Well I am waiting for the manager to call me after Monday, when he is back vacationing, lets see if they hire me, then I'll check the trucks and see if I allowed to gut anything from it,

There is room for a coleman type cooler behind the passenger seat in the prostar. Its a tight fit but goes in there. There are a few guys at my terminal who had the passenger seat removed and put a minifridge and microwave there. I know the High Point shop will do that. Every terminal has a company hotel where your driver ID will pay for the room. I have also gotten rooms, paid for them on my credit card and gotten reimbursed on my next check after turning in the receipt.76cb550 Thanks this.

Thanks Wsyrob, SC will probably handle me whatever truck they have at the time. Question: a driver going solo pick their trucks at the hiring terminal?. I will ask about the passenger seat removal, hopefully I can have it out, a fridge is essential for me on the road to keep a better diet. I am very organized, so whatever space I have to deal, I can find a solution with time.
I like to stay on the road longer, so I like to have a few things to escape my enclosed life when I have time. So no more suffering, lol. I am a truck driver and whatever we can't see ahead, we slow down!
Thanks, I'll keep info after I start my hiring process. -
They will assign you a truck. There are not a bunch sitting around to choose from.

Hey ya'll,
My interview was scheduled on 01/07, The original manager I thought would be doing my interview was promoted, so instead of him I got a supervisor of operations, something like that.
He is a good person n very busy, once he told me about why the manager was out and he was doing the extra work, I let him ask the questions and I listened, the interview was short, basically only two questions: my experiences as a trucker and if I had a reliable car. I asked a couple of questions and that was it.
He told me about the new trucks the terminal will be receiving by the Month of May, and the couple Pro-stars they have will be out by that time. He told me the reason why they are phasing out these trucks, I'll be, most likely, driving a Prostar if I'm hired, told him is all good.
Nothing much in this interview, was more like a meeting and to sign my background check form, so once I am clear, we could move on and start the hiring process, he warned "this will take some time". I called him today, still he got nothing back yet.Last edited: Jan 12, 2016
wsyrob Thanks this. -
Sounds like you got the job, so congrats! Once you get the backround/dmv check done it should only take a day or two to finish everything else and you'll be with a trainer. It's pretty straight forward process, just takes time for other people to do their job.

Thanks,
yeah, I also think so, about getting the job, and the wait for the background checking. I'm just putting down how things are going.wsyrob Thanks this. -
I did my drug test on 01/21, and waited for the results, yesterday I called, and everything is good as expect, now I am waiting for him to schedule the road test and dexterity test to be done together next week. All is moving, slowly, but I think next week I'll be done with all and start my training.

I'm here in Springfield, is that you checking out an international with a mechanic possibly getting your truck?
