I's no a teddy bear. It's a tactical support object.

It most certainly has… they were stuck at the terminal in Wisconsin (Marshfield) for a night but they put them in their own hotel room so he got some rest and alone time. He met a few fellow drivers and saw someone from his CDL school. They are on there way now to Atlanta GA to do three stops there due tomorrow. Then… we don’t know yet. It’s day by day. It’s a min of 4 weeks out for training before any break. He’s driven most of the time. So that’s good. We got a super warm jacket and boots so he’s good there. He has certainly needed them. He’s gotten frustrated a couple times but I know that’s normal. It’s a huge change. It only gets better from here. Thanks for checking….

Keep up the good work, get that experience knocked out and it will be invaluable, you guys live in a good area for trucking as far as Florida goes.

Well if he’s driving in winter weather it’s best now with a trainer. I barely got any snow driving time with a trainer. Kinda wish I did. But I salted and plowed snow for 10 years before. So some experience. Slow and steady wins that one. Tell him ask all the questions he has. Thats part of the trainers job to teach him.

I’m sure there is lots of good info here. But if you’re referring to teaming with a trainer to supplement what you received in school talk to that trainer.

Obviously you’ll want the basics like extra clothing; money, phone and hygiene items. Beyond that you have no idea how much space you’ll have once you get into your trainer’s truck. So that would be the first person you should ask.

No only will that person know how much space you’re allowed he will also know his daily routine, travel lanes and a plethora of other information. For example, there probably little need for more than one or two long sleeve shirts if you run in a circle between Lubbock, TX and San Diego, CA regardless of time of year. On the other hand if you run I-80 between Salt Lake City and Morris, IL you’ll need SS shirts in the summer and thermal underwear in the wind.

If you routinely load produce at a port, you may be required to stand inside the dock next to your trailer opening and verify each load. The temp will be between 34 and 38 degrees. Even if you just loads at ports on the Texas coast where it’s hot year round you’ll need a jacket or you’ll freeze your behind off counting pallets as they are loaded.

Those are but a tiny few of the reasons I’d ask the trainer. There are many people here who will try to help. They will definitely try to provide great information. However, their recommendations may not be consistent with what you’ll actually need.

Any updates? Hoping things are going good for you guys, the weather has quieted down which is definitely a good thing, warmer temps are just around the corner.
