Post one more time and then PM me. No need to send it in for a repair yet. I don't think it is a hopeless cause yet.

I did not take it as rude, I can sense your frustration. I deal with this each day. Try working on 8+ units daily tracking down issues...lol

Yes to the drive rename, but sometimes the port gets hung and to take an possible "issue" out of the loop, I delete and then reboot to allow the computer to rename the ports as they are used. If you always have an external drive connected such as "F", then once you reboot you can rename that port it is connected too to the drive letter you wish.

    Thanks,
    mark

Sadly when you think about it.

RM does mapping/trucking, not so much GPS's, So their trucking data is easily the most complete, but the GPS sometimes has issues.

Garmin does GPS's, but the trucking data/options that truck drivers like are meh on their units. So the GPS has less issues, but features are limited, and trucking data is quite limited.

It sadly just ends up being a middle ground for what you want. Personally I couldn't enjoy the Garmin, it worked fine, but road data was terrible, and it had a lovely habit of running you directly through a city/town to get to the other side of town to your destination, instead of just following the interstate to the other side, and jumping off the exit right next to your destination. Think thats always just due to the mileage. Among other missing features and other truck map data issues that were quite irritating.

It also doesn't hurt that I got the RM 720 for about 150$ less when I bought it. However I have also been lucky with my unit working well. And honestly with the help of Mark for questions/problems, I couldn't be happier.

I GUARANTEE you will not see support like mark offers from any other GPS maker, and hell, I only know of 1 other business non-gps related that provides a similar level of support. It's very hard to find these days. At the end of the day though, it's just what works for you.

Does RM have a RND 720 Dock download to run on Android 4.4 KitKat?

Have had the new update on my 510 for a bit now & love the overhaul.

Higher resolution text & better font usage lessens the pixilization effect.

Faster routing & POI searches, & I can finally zoom in on summary map overview.

Split screen junction view let's me see how tight the ramp will be after actual merge points to give an indicator of how liberal to be with brakes.

Only have had it soft-hang 2wice & no force close/memory errors, does it use the former internal storage as extra RAM buffer now?

Why though, is there blue backgrounds zoomed in around major city areas?
    Is it a county indicator?

Confuses what is water & what is not

One thing bugs big time - the current speed indicator is not centered in the green, yellow, or red bubble - at least at double digit speeds; it is left biased by a mm.

No to the extra Ram Buffer.

Route/Junction View Distance, toggle left to turn it off. An issue has been found and is in testing phase.

    What city area?

    Thanks,
    Mark

I appreciate you wanting to work with me. I apologize if the tone of my post came off as bit gruff. I'm simply
frustrated. As you suggested, I will need to find a broadband, dedicated connection somewhere, when I get
some home time. How much of a heads up do you need when I contact? It may be hard to coordinate both.
What is you average time per PM response and perhaps I can gauge it better...

    Thanks again...
