Freeways set to allow. I have found that if I set it to prefer on some trips that it takes me hundreds of miles farther so I leave it on allow so I don't have to change settings for every trip or segment of a trip.
Anyways been playing with the TND's for over 3 yrs tried all the settings and found routing to be frustrating and cumbersome at times and trying to change a route on the fly without putting in a bunch of via's is almost impossible.
VIA means "by way of " not go there then continue so should not be treated as stopping points in the first place. Hokey system.

 

That's all well and good for experienced operators that know their way around but it's still not the way it should be, and if it's the first time someone goes that route they wouldn't know to stay on I-5 as there could be a reason to route on us 99 so they would take it.
Point being " wacky routing "

just bought the tnd 530 -- considering to add the traffic feature and providing it with wifi via a phone personal hotspot. Do you know what the average data use is per day/week/month?

I always thought that USB cables were pretty much universally interchangeable. I tried to use a micro USB cable off my Bluetooth headset to charge my phone. My phone would not recognize it. Weird.
