Has 2 issues today.
The junction of I39/I90 and BUS-14 in Janesville, WI is now a Hybrid/Enhanced Roundabout. TND 720 with the new mapset still showed it as a full cloverleaf interchange.
On top of that, I was taveling 14 West to 14-BUS West to I39N/I90W. Instead of the right hand 90 degree on ramp, it routed me to the I39S/I90E on-ramp immediately to the 14-BUS East off-ramp immediately the I39N/I90W on-ramp. That's 3 consecutive 270 ramps instead of the 1 90 degree ramp. AND It's not even a cloverleaf interchange anymore.
Also, my screen colored out with vertical lines. I had to hold the off button down for over 30 seconds for it to shut down. 'colored out with vertical lines' << is there a better term for it? First time that has ever happened. I have had if freeze a couple of times, even though I RARELY used it for routing.
Also, where did the camera icon go that allowed you to take a screen shot?

Main Menu / Preferences / scroll down to Screen Snapshot Button / turn to OnBROKENSPROKET Thanks this.

Make sure you are getting full power to it. Your battery may not be fully charged. It is a HD screen and if the battery is low when you are running it then the screen will do odd things,
Thanks,
Mark -
It's plugged in 24/7. However, when its not getting enough power, the POWER OFF screen should appear !?!? It shouldn't do odd things.
It had never happened the 13+ months that it was running with the original mapset. It happened Day 2 after that update.

Let it run without power to drain the battery, then charge it up again (off) for about 3 hours on AC and about 5 on DC. It may be plugged in, but is the DC end firmly in the socket? Sometimes it vibrates out just a little and you lose solid contact. Once you push it in, take a cable tie and slide in along the sides to give it a more snug fit.
Thanks,
Mark -
If he is using a usb cord to power his unit he may be using a power source that does not suplly enough current. I had this problem and corrected it by getting a 2.1 amp usb adapter.
-
Janesville, WI - HERE shows the correction so it may be a pending update still. Since this section is physically changing it would not do to try to correct the current maps for correct routing since the corrections would go to HERE.
Thanks,
Mark -
Found it at 34.534744, -117.398567
Unfortunately it is not on the next TF (Truckers Friend), I have submitted to add it.
Thanks,
Mark -
I will look into an new USB adapter, but if that is the problem, that would suggest that the TND 720 is trying to draw more current with the new mapset than it did with the old. But I would think that if it drew more that can be supplied, the fuse would burn out either in the dash or the ciggerrete/USB adapter.
I am currently doing what Mark suggested, running it dead then recharging it while off. -
The 5" will draw about 1-1.5amps
The 7" will draw about 2 amps
The maps has nothing to do with the power draw. The screen is HD which draws power, you are trying to keep a charge on the battery with draws power, plus the motherboard draws power.
Thanks,
mark
