Either turning it off/on, or resuming a trip once I've reached a via (usually a truck/rest stop).

It isn't that the machine doesn't know which way I'm going, its that it recalculates legs I haven't even started (multi-stop trips).

It does not remember the actual route, but the via points if you turn the unit off/on again. You can turn Preferences/Route/Recalculation to off. This will stop any recalcs.

Example that should show you what I mean:

Origin: Jahant truckstop in Acampo, CA
Pickup: Sierra Army Depot, C Street, Herlong, CA
Destination: Fort Jackson, SC

After stomping my feet, turning in circles 3 times, and sacrificing a salamander, I was able to get it to route how I wanted (i80 to Lincoln, NE then down to Kansas City, then Nashville, then to Columbia SC -- 2640 loaded miles).

Then I stop for fuel at the Sac Valley truck stop (not in poi db: 2891 stockton blvd, sacramento). When I resume my trip, it is now showing a total trip length of 60 extra miles (it is now routing down to i40 instead of 80 and I haven't even got to the pickup yet).

I get to the pickup and start back towards i80, only this time it is routing using a portion of i70 and is adding 100 miles.

I ignore it and continue on 80, but it doesn't return to my original routing until I'm in Nebraska.

i80 westbound through Chicago area. One interchange in particular is in Lansing, IL begining at where i80 goes over burnham ave. If you're going west on i80, it'll have you exit to that feeder road then after you pass i94 it'll have you merge back onto 80.

I see it when picking fastest route. With shortest it keeps on I-80. I will submit to RM.

The RM mca says it is good, but now that you mention it the RM might have had an overweight warning. Both Goethals and Verrazano-narrows are rated for trucks...

I will have RM Verify any restrictions.

I don't think there is an easy fix for this one. You need to take some toll roads to get to Long Island in a reasonable manner, its just the RM gives no weight to whether a particular toll road is worth its price.

Preferences/General/Toll Prompt Notification - if enabled if a toll road is there it will pop up a screen asking you to keep your current route or compare. If compare it will show you a tollroad/non - tollroad unless two Tollroads are in the route and then it will compare those. It will give you an idea of the toll cost. This is based upon what information RM has, so it is in the close ballpark.

It isn't a truck speed limit issue. The speed limit for everyone could be 80mph, but if your truck is governed at 62 it doesn't save you any time to take a longer route when the speed limits on the shorter route are already higher than you can fully utilize

There never has been an easy fix for this. Preferences/Route/ETA Adjustment was added. Decrease ETA more is about a 62mph truck.

Coming into the TA in Sparks Nevada, it should send you from I80 exit 18 and you're there. Instead it tries to route you around surface streets and into the back of the TA, like its not allowed on the street in front of the entrance. This happens from both directions off the 80.

TA #172, Sparks, NV is off exit 19. I tried both ways and mine routes to exit 19.

Allow/Prefer - shortest/fastest.

Sometime the state has a restriction on that road the TS is on, but they place the restriction ahead of the TS instead of beyond the TS. Usually RM moves the restriction point down just past the TS so routing is allowed to the TS.

Hey Mark did RM found a fix for the 730 yet I still have that Navi.exe app error every 2 days and it goes away if I restart or reset the unit.

It was found and fixed. Awaiting for QA. It is in their testing phase. This was a tough one. It took about 3 weeks of live testing to narrow it down.

Believe me, this is one bug I am glad that is fixed. I got tired of doing circles between ramps testing at 2am....

Mark, trying to DL the map update to my pc, then transfer to the TND after I get my sd card this afternoon, but map update is greyed out. I thought I could DL the map update without the TND? It let me DL the software update just fine.
