Mark,
Now, before this latest, large OS and map update, my 720 never had an issue updating via dock and my iPhone LTE connection out on the road.
Do you think I will be able to return to this practice on these next updates that aren't so data heavy? I mean, these should just be patches, correct?
Will you test that for us? -
Mark,
I have a 720 and the thing almost constantly locks up in metro area's, The unit stays working but the speed locks and the truck update stop moving its like the truck is sitting still. The only way to get it to update when it does this is to get out of the map screen then go back into it and it will force update. I think i have a corrupted file somewhere what files can I delete and the unit will re download without bricking the unit ? -
Thanks,
markSilverShadow, jorceshaman and Fajo Thank this. -

Version release is on hold temporary. A "Skin" issue was found and corrected, but QA has to look at the "Skin" change again in testing. It was not a major item, but a minor one, but for the customer, it was not acceptable.
I have asked QA to let me know when they are going to push it to the Dock.
Thanks,

Ok, I've had my newly purchased-refurbished 530 for about 2 months now. A few weeks after I bought it the screen went white and locked up. Tried plugging/unplugging the power cord a few times, no help. After the battery died in about an hour, I plugged it back in and it worked. Next day I get a message that said something like fatal error and had to shut down. Worked good for a week or so, now a total of three times the screen has locked up and I have to unplug it until the battery drains and plug it back in and it works again! Any ideas Mark?

While this won't figure out the root of the issue, if you are driving, or needed your GPS it should get you back up and running instead of waiting for the battery to die.
Hopefully mark has an idea for the root cause of the issue as well.Big Schmidty Thanks this. -
How long do you have to hold down the power button? I've tried it for 20 to 30 seconds and no help. It sure sux and it seems to happen when I'm getting close to my destination. Then go to the map book or my phone gps. About ready to put my car gps(nuvi) back in the truck. The Rand sure seems to want to take me on some weird routes. I just got a new power cord for my Nuvi, I'm going to run them side by side to check different routes in both car and truck mode.
