    1. My 730 will not give me the "Heading Up" view any more.
3D, Heading North, and Heading up all give the same zoomed out aerial view.
If I zoom in, it zooms right back out.
Running Dock diagnostics did not help.
    What next?

    2. On CA99 in the Chowchilla, CA area, the unit thinks it is off the highway and acts lost.

Also, in areas like Lathrop, Lodi, Stockton, etc, the same thing happens.
There have been major road projects in these areas, and many of the roads and exits/entrances have been moved entirely.
    Need a serious map update.

Just bought a Rand Mcnally 730, My old 720 finally died (Connector issue on unit Computer will not recognize it).
I Just tried an update It downloaded files just fine then gave me the dreaded transfer failed. I uninstalled software went to user files and deleted files there then restarted reinstalled reinitialized re-downloaded and? Transfer failed.... Faulty unit or fixable?

My 730 now when I plug it in says it's connected to the pc .I can't drive and charge it.is that a normal issue? Doesn't matter if car adapter or wall plug in.

    1. This sounds like you have "AutoZoom" turned on to the max level. Check "Main Menu / Preferences / Map Map AutoZoom" setting.

    jet460 Thanks this.

I keep my sound off mostly anyways. Many of the turn warnings and hill/downgrade warnings are just plain wrong. Love getting multiple turn warnings while looking at miles of straight road. Yes, I know I can change settings on warnings, but mine freezes up weekly now for some reason and requires restarting. This sets everything back to default settings and I have several settings I have to change already, so sound off is easy to live with for me.

Make sure under preferences/Map//Map Auto Zoom you do not have set for ON, Auto Scale.

Until the state DOT signs off on those projects they are still classified as construction. Then when state DOT does sign off, it may take 1-2 years to get into the map database.

I see it on the road in demo mode. It might be a satellite movement again.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Most is a pretty general term. I do see them from time to time being off, but I would venture to say about 90% are correct. If you see one is off let me know so the DB can be corrected.

The freeze issue is still being looked at.

Pressing the reset does not reset all settings back to default. You have to physically delete a file to do that.

If you are going to be at GATS, stop by the CS support desk for RM and we can take care of the sound issue.

    Thanks,
    Mark

If you are unable to make it to GATS in Dallas, TX the 27th-29th and your unit is in need of repair let me know.

    Thanks,
    Mark
