I don't know either. After my experience with my RM TND720, I imagine that RM is in some 'damage control' or 'process improvement' stage.

It's either, other companies are not in the need of this type of 'tech support' were RM does, OR RM is taking a professional step to improve it's product that others just have not figured worth while.

I am glad Mark is here, but I am also very disappointed in RM's TND720. He may take some heat that he does not deserve, but he is getting paid for it.

Don't tell us what it is for. But atleast tell us that it's NOT for the DOT to use.

Would you please, break that down to where I am not confused. Step by Step. I would greatly appreciate it. I cannot get Dock to work. I get a prompt if I want to let RM make changes to my computer, I agee and then I get this message that Dock is intializing and will be ready in a few moments, then it dissappears and there is nothing. I have unistalled and redownloaded it several times and I cannot get it to work.

Oh, I also get this black and white, old DOS looking like command box with exe. something or other with a flashing cursor, like it's waiting for me to tell it what to do next. You can laugh at me. I am OK with that. I tried to example it the best why I could at the moment. IF I went through it again, I might be able to describe it better.

I will say this much for RM, IF your GPS says you are running 64 mph and the truck says your are running 65 mph, you are doing 64 mph and your speedometer is off.

Compare the mph to other gps devices and to the speedometers in 4 wheeled vehicles and see what you come up with.

You almost had me sold with that answer. It's very logical that thread wear affects the accuracy of a speedometer, that I will give you. But RM, GPS goes by Lat/Long. It does not go by Lat/Long/Alt, does it? My Timex Bodylink GPS does. Lat/Long only gives you 'as thecrow flies' but we are not crows, we are mountain goats, climbing up and down all those hills. Are put another way to put it, our tires are the 'wheel measuring tool' and the GPS w/o Altitude, is only akin to a lazer measuring tool.

oh, that just reminded me of an improvement idea I had. . I would love to see an extra grapic at the bottom that showed the elevations or elevation changes of the route and a moving marker as to where you are.

Brokensproket - with all do respect couldn't all them replies have been made using just one reply instead of six or seven? Thanks for the suggestion to try other GPS speed sources aside from what I have used.

It's not saying "impossible" it's saying "If Possible."

IF you did the last map update then you should be less than a year old in map data. You have to remember that until HERE (NavTeq) updates their main core maps which can take 1-2 years after completion of a road project. Road projects are not fully done until the city/state sign off on them. Until they do it is still considered a construction project.

    Thanks,
    mark
