Press the reset button on the top? You will need a paperclip.

    Thanks,

    Another shortest/fastest routing bug:

West Branch, IA to Portland, OR to Seattle, WA

Fastest is longer and slower: 20150917_121808.jpg

Mark I had previously posted I was having issues with my 530. It is now much worse and the thing is almost useless. Is only a few months old. Things it is doing:

    - no GPS connection for long periods. Sometimes redoing the route fixes it, sometimes it needs a hard reset
    - location and speed way off
    - map screen freezes. Most of the time I can go elsewhere in the unit, but sometimes it freezes solid and needs a hard reset.

I'd say it only works properly 10% of the time.

Location and speed are tied to the GPS. Have you shut off everything else you have on the dash - CB's, Dashcams, etc? DieselBoss had one customer that the CB had to be unplugged and we know that Dashcams around or side by side a GPS will throw off the GPS receiver.

Does it have this issue when you take it out of the truck and walk around with it??

Sorry if I asked this before. I don't remember the total issue.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Normally for the CB it is bad grounding. Dashcams if too close or on the same level as the GPS and close will affect the receiver. Several GPS close to one another will affect each other. FM transmitters also will affect an GPS (the kind you use to get your Sirius/XM to your truck radio.)

The first step in troubleshooting an GPS issue is to disconnect all other electronic devices on your dash and see if the GPS is now solid. Then plug them back in one by one till the GPS goes flaky.

I had a tester that had two GPS units on their dash with a dashcam. The dashcam went bad and affected both GPS's. Once out of the truck the GPS's worked fine, in truck the GPS receiver was flaky.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I've had older tnds in the same truck in the same spot with the same cb without issues. But will certainly look into it.
