    No, bad screen.

You might try leaving it off for a day or two, then charging on AC for about 4 hours and see if it corrects. Most of the time this happens your TND battery is not charged enough. The 7" screens are HD so they require a more fully charged battery even when connected to either AC or DC.

    Thanks,
    mark

ok got it plugged into my laptop and screen is PERFECT,
found reason why it was freaking out. was using a 120v to 12vds adapter rated at 500 MA and unit requires 2.5 amp. it wasnt supplying enough power to supply the battery with proper voltage.

mark, is there a bigger battery that can be installed to get a bit longer life out of it?

No, they are designed to be connected to a power source using the battery only when needed.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Heading towards Davenport on I80 east (to Michigan), had the unit set to select the fastest route. It had me routed to stay on 80, but I took the 280 exit. It recalculated the route and knocked 35 minutes or so off the ETA once I hit 280.

Is there a setting somewhere to fix this? Or was it just trying to save me from that stretch of construction at the start of 280?

No, it has to do with the "weight" given to each section of road. I-80 may have a higher "weigh" than the 280. I can check.

With a higher "weigh" it will be given more priority for routing.

    Thanks,
    Mark
