Im pretty sure my new Tablet 70 has an update available but I cant get it to update?
How are you supposed to update the tablet 70?
I clicked the check for new updates button in the RM Launcher app but it does nothing. I get no message or anything. I also ran the Validate current config and here is what it found ...

(also, yes it is connected to wifi and it is working.)

Tripmaker goes by "points" on the map not routes. They are planning to allow you to import the route you need also.

7720 is an RV version. You will find if you try to run with it in a truck it will give you different routing. The Routing will tend to give you more left turns versus right since an RV at length cannot make right turns easy.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Contact RM CS and they can either do a reset of the Tablet or they have one other way to reset the GPS software. As for not responding, I usually wait a few minutes before starting the Truck GPS app. I have seen the same thing but cannot narrow it down why.

    Thanks,
    mark

If it does nothing then their is no update. I reported this before that the pressing of the update should let the user know if no updates are available. One other way is on the main screen swipe down and in the upper right you will see if updates are available.

    Thanks,

Tried with no discernable change, as a whole the 510 has been sluggish since update - longer boot time, longer calculation time, longer time between button presses.

Also the brightness settings have been screwed up since update; day/night auto switch not working until a random screen press or sometimes have to click on brightness setting & then would change.

The brightness levels have screwed up as well, normal operation for me is full bright days & bottom right #4 of 8 for nighttime; same settings gives me the equivalent of #2 of 8 with really washed out colors & the entire top row of night time brightness has no graduations - they are all #8 of 8 full brightness...

Weird for sure, any way they can post up the previous version before the update until they get it sorted?

    Thanks much & cheers.

This last update was made to degrade older units but they went to far and made it to obvious to the users. Shame on you Rand McNally

On top of the Lag and the brightness issues since last update now the unit is recalculating the route randomly for no reason. This has happened 12 times in the past two hours. Rand McNally really hosed this oupdate up. I want to revert to the prior update but then again your guy probably messed with the kernel so were all screwed. These units are going to start dying like flies. Mark my words.

It's a bad connection on the motherboard and the power connector. My money says that connection is rather warm to the touch. I've been through this with 3 units.
