When you get the Correct Micro SD Card let me know and I will tell you how to get the NaviMaps to download again.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Has anyone else had the issue of buying a brand new 530 (on 8/30/16), trying to complete updates on it right out of the box (screaming fast home network, both wired and wifi, as well as Loves wifi, and a hotel wifi), and not being able to get past 7_jvi.bin? This is file 1 of 4. It usually hangs on it, fails completely, and/or switches from estimated 28 minute download all the way to 23 hours, which it just did to me right now. Have until 9/29 to turn it back in to Loves. Thinking about a suitable replacement if I can't get map updates, such as Garmin or Cobra.

That is a big file, but normally takes about 10 minutes. Make sure your anti-virus is turned off.

Love's Wi-Fi and Hotel Wi-Fi are not fast, so it will take awhile.

If you are home, connect your computer via the Lan to your home network. Wi-Fi in the house is not as fast as wired.

If it has failed a few times, then you might have a corrupted download.

You will have to delete the Cache folder, I can tell you where it is and send you a new file to "fake" the dock into downloading the maps again. Home network. Not Love's or Hotel.

If you are at home I can remote into your computer to assist in this.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Last night my Rand McNally 720 froze in an odd sort of way, with vertical lines. I tried the reset button several times. Each time it would reboot I got the initial screen with the picture of the truck, then it would resolve into the vertical lines. If I disconnected the power the screen would go blank.

Could be a power issue where the TND is not getting enough power 5vdc@2.4amps or a bad screen.

I would look at the latter.

    Thanks,
    Mark

If it is a bad screen, how do I get it serviced or replaced?

    I have the TND730, it works pretty well. The only thing that I am having trouble with so far;
I can not see all the points of interest (poi) that I have setup. I can see the CAT scales icon but not the truck stops. I am sure I have a setting wrong, anyone know what to try?

    Thanks

I think my issue was a bad plug. Got that resolved and no more issues so far.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

Main Screen/Preferences/Map/Truck POI Icons - On or Off.. press "Select Icons to Display On Map" to chose which ones to display on map.

    Thanks,
    Mark
