Can you turn this off to test to see if this is causing the issue?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Tried and it is causing an issue, relocated to top of windshield and will see if original issue returns once on road later

    What model Doran is that?

I just called Doran and the connector on the left side is from an RF antenna that does pick up the RF signals from the sensors. BT does not have that range.

So you are probably getting stray RF around that Doran that is interfering with your GPS receiver.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Mark,

I just bought a 730, I've had it about 2 days. I was zooming out to look at the whole route, and I got the message in this pic. I can't turn it off, tried holding the power button down for 30 seconds, clicking it multiple times, etc. I currently have it unplugged so the battery will die. Is this a common problem? Is it an issue that I need to replace the unit for? I was going to call tech support, but they won't be open till Monday.

Not a common problem. I don't know what you had running at the time. You may have had too many "paints" going at the same time such as POI's showing on the maps.

Press the reset on the back.

    Thanks,
    Mark

So I had to post this somewhere so this seemed like a good place. I purchased a 730 back in February. It seemed to work pretty well outside of some occasional exe errors which required a reset. Lately though they seemed to be more frequent and at the worst possible times . Well , I finally stopped procrastinating today and called Rand McNally support. To make a long story short, the representative said that they cannot repair this issue and would have to send me a replacement. Very impressed with their willingness to stand behind their product.

Start a Conversation (PM) with me. I will need your Navi/Logs. Sometimes when it crashes it corrupts the Db's and if not repaired, they then will keep causing crashes. Your logs will show if any Db's are corrupted.

I had one user that was on his 5th replacement. It working with him we found out his MycustomPOI.db was corrupted and causing all his issues. He copied his files over first and simply just moved the bad file from unit to unit.

Normally I just replace the complete files, to include user files to clean up the Data Bases.

    Thanks,
    Mark

The rep said that the Navi.exe error cannot be repaired. Is that not correct?

Really... If any of the Data Bases are corrupted then you will have constant fails. Once that DB is fixed the errors go away.

    Send me a Conversation.

    Thanks,
    Mark
