I have to look at this on the Map, but suspect that this is one of the "Over rides" that the router sees if it cannot really find a more truck legal route to your POI. There are a lot of little parameters that were put into the Router for cases like this.
Thanks,
Mark

Sorry Mark:
Lynda just told me that she did have to detour that stretch of Hwy 20 as it is posted for length restriction and routed her down 126 to Eugene OR and back up I-5 to the truck stop. She forgot to tell me the other day and I just found out now.Mark Kling Thanks this. -
Hay Mark - thanks a lot for the help you gave me getting my TND 80 back up and running.
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
I was in Richmond, KY, prepping units for MATS.... back at home now.
Thanks,
Mark -
We just came from Las Vegas on route to Phoenix and Our tnd 730 doesn't seem to realize that Highway 93 exists. It routed us on 95 down to needles instead of 93 to Kingman and now wants us to go to Flagstaff on I40 and then South on I17 to Phoenix when 93 goes pretty much straight from here to Phoenix. If you look at the map it will show a rest area in the middle of the uncharted desert where 93 should be. How can this be? This bug has existed ever since we bought this a year and a half ago.

It is set to allow all. Wouldn't all include Highway 93? We docked it when we were home a month ago and I updated all the maps.

Let me put a unit on production again and test. I just did this on another thread a few weeks ago and it routed fine..
Let me know you start/stop points. City/state is fine.
Thanks,

If you set the start as Salt Lake City Utah and the finish as Phoenix Arizona it will give you two options. The first option goes down through price Utah and into Flagstaff. A lot of slow country 2 Lane Highway's I prefer to avoid. The second option as you're going down I 15 through Vegas all the way to San Bernardino and then east on I 10 which is far too long. The best option takes you down to Las Vegas and then you catch the 93 to Kingman Arizona and then you get on I40 for a little bit and then follow 93 down to Phoenix. It is by far the fastest route from Phoenix to Salt Lake.

Your starting point is probably a little too far east. I tried in different settings and it stays on AZ 89. The second route is a freeway route. So, let's stay with the first route. AZ 89 is truck legal for STAA and Non-STAA trucks, so it gave you that choice. If you wish to "bend" the route farther West you are going to have to put in a Via point. I put in Las Vegas and it put me on AZ-93 down to US 60. This is just one of those times you have to add a Via point to force the route the way you want.
If you set to avoid 89 the entire length it bends the route over to US 50. So the Via point is your best option.
