The last map update was last year. This current one has not been passed to the x20's yet. It has to pass QA testing first.
Thanks,
Mark

You can turn off/on every 3-4 days, not every 24 hours. It mainly depends on what screen(s) you go to a lot. This all loads into memory and holds there for faster access the next time you use the same screen(s). I suggest every 3-4 days as a common number.
As for the freezing... Have you done the latest Map update? If so... did you install an SD Card? The 730 does not require an SD Card.
I am sending you a conversation, I would like you to send me your log files.
Thanks,

I'm aware of that. I was specifically asking for the ability to do this. This wouldn't require Internet or a computer, every time a trip needed to be sent to the device (specifically the new overdryve)

I have a question about the Mapping/routing and ghost turns.
Here is an example:
I am driving on I80/94 west bound from say exit 6 Burr st in Indiana and I am heading to a place off 95th st in Bridgeview IL.
The route has me take 80/94 to 294 - which is correct.
The problem is the numerous "ghost turns" such as:
Take exit 160 for I94 north, then make a U Turn to get back onto 80/94? What the.......?
How about being directed to the left or right for every toll booth (seems to be no consistency)? This is especially annoying when there is a turn I actually need to make soon after the toll booth ghost turn which is masked by its presence. -
I will have to test this out...
What model do you have? Serial number on the back.
Thanks,
Mark -
As soon as I get back to my truck I'll put the requested info up. I like the 8" tablet it's been very reliable since the maps were reinstalled.

I've had these kind of "ghost" turns, too, and the left or right for tollbooths can be confusing if you're not familar with the area.. The ghost turns is what I would consider the problems I'd reported to you before. Also, since the map update, the route sometimes changes mid-trip. Example: Today I looked at my route before I began driving. Midway through, the route had changed - to a LONGER route. I took a 3.5 minute video of the 730 showing the route, and me adding a waypoint to force it to go the shorter route, and compared the mileages/hours&minutes between the two. I can send this to you if you'd like. Mark, what's up?
-
I am running this on a 730 and Tablet, both Car/truck. I don't see the "ghost" turns.
under preferences/route - what are your settings?
This is a tablet right? Did you get the last map update?
Thanks,
Mark -
My Tablet does the same "ghost" for Exit 160 everytime going westbound from I65. I travel west to I355 everyday and the westbound Exit 160 is sort of a "local" set of lanes to access the 94 west ramp but also has a through lane to get back on the express lanes of 80. but they are not referred to as local and express with any signs. Being from this area I know to just stay to the left on the main lanes and not use that exit 160 local exits part. I also hate the toll booth thing.
Maybe the GPS thinks that the exit is treated as Local lanes and might think no trucks allowed on the express side. Such is the case on the Dan ryan going south out of Chicago. Trucks must use the local right set of lanes.Last edited: May 20, 2017
