Map updates for the x20's came out last year. If you connect to the Dock it should show if you need a Map update or not. It goes by a file and the manifest so the Dock will know if your set of maps are needing updated.
Thanks,
Mark

so in other words, we gotta keep buying...great plan Rand....
i'll not buy another one.
i just now uninstalled the Rand Dock. seems i have no more a need for crap. -
The x10 is well over 5 years on the market. It is like buying a Commodore 64 and expect it to keep up with today's computer needs.
Hardware is vastly getting faster and the processor in the x10 cannot handle the newer software. Sorry, but nobody can guess the future 5 years out. RM put out a product that was in tune with what was available at the time it was manufactured.
Thanks,
MarkCorporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
well, i hope others that buy Rand are happy that in 5 years they have to buy a newer one. i'm now done with Rand and will not recommend them anymore.
-
That is your choice.. but anywhere in the world in any type of product, the product will have a "life" that will be ended for support by any company that puts out a product. It is not your "lifetime", but the "lifetime" that the company deems that due to hardware/software that current software will not be able to be supported by the older hardware/software.
until the shorter of 1) the useful life of the specific Rand McNally device, or 2) such time as Rand McNally no longer receives updated content from its map supplier
Rand McNally Lifetime Maps
Thanks,
Mark -
5 years is TOO short a lifetime. crap, even M$ has support for their operating systems for MORE years than just 5.
well you still got a job at Rand, but Rand will no longer have me pad thier wallets, and buy them thier private jets. -
Enough.. you are not happy I can tell, but again, the Hardware will not support the new Maps nor the Software that it needs to display the maps. Processor is too slow.
A phone you got 5 years ago is old compared to what is available today..
Enough on this.
Thanks,
Mark -
you keep responding to me, you should have stopped, so yeah, enough.
