    this is what i have

    software version
    11.95.2258.1629

    dock version
    1.0.5675.16254

is there a way i can maybe view my files and relate them to you, rather than you be in my computer?

or is there a way to wipe out what's in my Rand and download fresh?

I can spot them faster. Plus if any file maintenance needs to be done I can see.

You will be able to watch since I control the mouse.

Dock might not rebuild all files but I have my 510 to get files from.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I know I'm a nobody to you but I can vouch for Mark that he only does what he has to do when he's remote connected to your computer. I spent almost half a day with him working on my 720 at the time.

Mark knows what he is doing. Even if you've been around tech/filesystems/OSes for a long time, you should know that if you delete one wrong thing your GPS is as good as a paperweight anyways so if my advice is worth more than #### than let Mark in so he can do what he needs to do, find out why your GPS is jacked up, and let him fix it.

For a device that's been rendered obsolete for 3 years, released 5 years ago and to my knowledge isn't sold anywhere anymore, I have to be honest and say that even after this email you said you sent complaining about Mark keeping his support thread on topic after that little derailment, you're pretty #### lucky to be offered his services (hopefully fixing your 510) for free. At this point if it was me I'd rather deal with the complaint my boss would get for my refusal to help after that little jerkfest.

Now, about your computer. TeamViewer shows you EXACTLY what Mark sees, so if you catch him sifting thru pictures in c:/pictures instead of h:/rm/blahblah, all you have to do is kill the connection, so you have that safeguard. Ask him to let you know what he's doing before when does it if you're that worried and you'll be just fine.

Or maybe hide all the porn beforehand.

you (nor anyone else) have any knowledge of what files and important documents i have in my pc, to assume it's more than what you say is stupid. you would be better served to talk to a teenager rather than a near 70 year old.

point 2, i read up on team viewer, some say it's a scam, some say it's legit.

as a result, i will not surrender my pc to anyone. do i appreciate the offer to help? sure, but i do not just flagrantly surrender my pc, documents, files to anyone.

Someone at Rand emailed me back. They said they were sorry for what happened, and offered to help me via phone. most likely when my schedule works up coming Monday, I will contact them, they will walk me thru a procedure

TeamViewer is Legit.. I have been using it for over 8 years. I send you the URL, just get the personal, it is free.

You are not surrendering your computer. If you wish we can talk on the phone at the same time. BTW,,, I have been working/around computers since the mid-80's.

As for support, I have been with the TND's since 2008 and helped with the design and software. The 510 is old and is not supported. The "procedure" will most likely be the Dialogistic and Repair on the Dock.

I have a working 510 here we could be done in about an hour.

The only drive I look at is the drive the 510 is connect to, unless the Dock also has an issue and that is on C:.

    Your choice..

    Thanks,
    Mark

Btw, the D/R will only compare files on the TND to what is on your computer under the Dock folder. If the Dock folder is corrupted then you are comparing Corrupted files to Corrupted files. Plus the Dock will not do a D/R on any user files. So, the D/R may say good, but you are still stuck with corrupted files.

Again I have a working 510 here... I have all models even the original Beta models from 2008.

    Your Choice.
    Thanks,
    Mark
