Can i import my favorites from my garmin to thr 730? How difficult to add custom poi?
-
If the file is a .csv file it can be imported to the TND via the Dock. On the dock click the right arrow and you will see "Add Locations", click on that. Pick which one you wish to import, the click on it (POI, Alert POI, Address Book). It will pop up a screen and you will need to find the location of the file you wish to import. Once you click on the file to import the Dock will tell you if imported ok or not. Disconnect your TND from the computer and plug into an AC or DC source. On boot up it will ask you to import the file.
Once done it should tell you how many fail to import if any. To see the failed records reconnect the TND back to the Dock and on the Add Locations screen you will see a new icon for the failures.
The .csv file does have to be in a certain format. Most of the time the failures are format related.

Mark my 720 is saying same thing that my map is over one year old. I checked and am on version 2922 and unit is saying up maps are up to date. It seems best I can remember was last year early summer for the map update. Why is it so long?

Some things going on at the business level in regards to the new maps. I did ask RM if they have a release date.

Hi Mark,
I'm on a 2GB data plan, so I don't want to go through all the posts...
I'm planing to get a 730LM, and I curently have 720.
Can I import my address book and truck preferences with the RM dock?
Thanks -
I do believe that if you do a backup of your 720 and then a restore it will move over your user files. Truck preferences will not move as that is not a user file.
The Dock will pop up a msg letting you know that you are not restoring to a 720, just say ok.
Verify the files such as address book, mileage, fuel (if used). If you are going to sell the 720 I can tell you what user files to delete to clean it up.
Thanks,
mark
