LOL IF I was closer to you, I probably would let you check it out.

I'm checking out some of the data on the TNDT80 and I am wondering why the Routes table inside the /.Navi/RM/Data/qplanner.db file is exactly 1,220,661 rows long.

Whenever the tablet (the tndt80) is rebooted, and I start up the Truck GPS app, it takes 2-3 minutes to become functional and it often pops up a warning that it's taking a long time to start and asks me if I want to keep waiting for it to start or if I want to close the app. Last time I had that issue it was because I had an extremely bloated db table in Truck.db it had something like 12 million lines with 8 million of them being duplicates. So that's why I wanted to know.

The qplanner.db is in the RM/Data folder which is pushed by Rand to the units. This table will almost never change since it is fixed city to city locations. The only way this will be corrupted if it is in a read condition and somehow the entire Tablet crashes. Very rare case as build in read conditions are protected by other modules in the software to prevent this, such as timing the read's.

The truck.db is in the RM/User folder which is a user defined file. This file does get written to a lot as it records mileage and fuel for the user. Safeguards have been put in place to protect the Read/Write when we found that the 730 crashing was corrupting this file.

Most times now when the 730 crashes I remove all the user files and run the unit. 9/10 times it is the truck.db that was corrupted.

The Tablet issue with the Truck GPS stopping was with the RM Services app. That was fixed back in March of this year. The Android handles error handling a little better than the TND's.

Since you know the "workings" of the tablet,... on the 80, copy all the .navi/User and the .navi/RM/user files. In the RM/User folder, copy only the .db's, not the sub folders.

If you think your .navi/RM/User/Truck.db is corrupted, then just rename it and see how the tablet reacts. But be aware that now you have two mileage/fuel logs.

    Thanks,
    Mark

OK all that has been copied. I'm on my way to work now, gotta make a run to Indy area so I'll post back tonight. There's one of those ghost turns on us 30 westbound, gonna see if it's gone or not with this device.

Probably will be since you don't have the maps in testing.

    Thanks
