Mark, I will get back to you in a few days when I get home. I'm not sure if the map download was corrupted or if the update just picked up where it left off when my internet connection was interrupted.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

My RM tablet/gps will no longer charge up and is not usable due to the spot where the power cord plugs in.

I have bought four 730's and experienced the same issue with all four of those! This makes number five! All experiencing the same issue with the plug in.

You let me send you three of the 730's and you worked on them and sent them back! Is there anything you can do for my tablet?

Is Rand McNally doing anything to change the way the device receives power from the power cord?

I love the Rand McNally product and my only complaint is this charging issue but it's a serious one!

I can't tell you how many times in the last two weeks my GPS has died and I desperately needed it! I was able to charge it up overnight in the hotel rooms that we stay in (I do new truck transport) but now I find I am unable to even fully do that! Please help! What can be done?

I got the PDF instructions from them. i have been chatting a bit with them over the past few days. They Do NOT use GOOGLE maps for traffic and mapping but do use the google pas and the underlay to put the routes onto.
So i guess i am going to run them side by side for a month and see how they do with routing, traffic - re-routing based on traffic and also with POIs and how current the road info is.

Ill get back to all in 30 days on this part

If we wish to review this other company try to slide it off onto another Thread please. I don't want this Support Thread to take different paths.

    Thanks,
    mark

I have a TND740, I've only had it for 2 weeks. The maps are garbage, I mean my old 730 had more accurate maps, My 740 won't do an update via my cellphone. Is there some secret handshake that needs to happen for that to update?

The same maps are used. Have you changed your settings? Map screen/bottom left tap on route symbol. You will see the icon for the settings. Top of my head. 3rd from left.

Have you set up your 740 to see your phone as a Hot Spot? If you tap on updates and it says no updates then you are up to date. What are your security settings on your phone?

    Thanks mark

One thing i am starting to find very annoying on my 740 is if i type to fast on the screen, suddenly the screen Zooms in and locks that way. i have to tap the hell out of it to get it back to normal.
Is there anyway to turn this feature off???

Doesn't do any good. I have connected to my home wifi and still no updates. These preloaded maps are out of date and horrible.
