Ok I have a question on the Traffic on my 740
What does it Do???
I have it turned on, WiFi connected, setting are set to use traffic. Yet i never see it do anything.
i even have the live traffic turned on for display and the only time i see the road colors is if its zoomed in, which in auto mode it almost never is.
and i have noticed that my 740 will run me right into traffic. no re-routes, no warnings, nothing seems to happen.
Now at least on my 730 i had the traffic bar that i could see there was an issue up the road and then click on it to find that issue. but on the 740 i can't find anyting, except if i go into setting on the screen for Live i can get ALL the traffic stuff but that doesn't really do me any good since i don't know where such and such is.
Am i missing something??

 

Last i heard traffic on the 740 was broken and that Mark was pushing for a fix on it.

 

I send an E-Mail to the Director of Products, whom is my boss. I will query this again. I did post several suggestions to him.

I would suggest the Waze app... Works great for traffic and bear reports as well...
I run it on my phone along with my 720...

I have decided not to purchase any of the new offerings by anyone for now as none of them seem to have their act together...

I get the impression that they just throw stuff out there and wait for the consumer to find all the flaws...
No quality control...

 

Not true on the QC... sometimes issues don't show up in testing. I work on issues that for one reason or another "seem" to appear since not everyone does the downloads the same, thus leading to issues.

I couldn't agree more! That new Overdrive 8 sure looks sweet, but no way I'm dropping 600 bucks knowing the issues of previous products. Plus, Waze redirects real-time. Used in combination with my 730, it can't be beat. And it's FREE!

I have confidence in you but given the problems that I see drivers having on this forum as well as reviews I have been reading on various consumer sites and youtube , have caused my lack of confidence in the recent products offered. These are expensive investments and should be more reliable or perhaps had driver input towards development.

 

Can you point me to the reviews and YouTube's you have seen?

I take most reviews as not a professional review and more biased toward the user.

Amazon reviews and just search the tnd740 on YouTube and you will get all you want.
