If you are looking for printing options for inspections see below.

Not to get to much into the ELD here.. but currently here are the requirements.

If on Paper Rods, you must show past 7 days plus current.
If on Stand Alone ELD or ROD, then you must print at the request of the inspecting officer.
If on an Aobrd's, you can show the screen or electronic transfer.
If on an ELD, you can show the screen or electronic transfer.

Note - if the Abord's or ELD that hook to the ECM of the truck you are not required to print a hard copy for the inspecting officer. A view of the screen or Electronic transfer will fulfill the requirements.

Note - Stand Alone - Using an Electronic device for logging, not using paper logs, not attached to the ECM of the truck

How will safety officials receive data electronically from two different types of ELDs?

How will safety officials receive data electronically from the two different types of ELDs with options for different methods of electronic data transfer (“telematics” and “local”)?
    PreviousNext

Authorized safety officials who conduct roadside enforcement activities (i.e., traffic enforcement and inspections) or compliance safety investigations will have the option of choosing a minimum of one electronic data transfer method (wireless Web services or email) and one “local” electronic data transfer method (USB2.0 or Bluetooth) for the electronic transfer of ELD data, depending on the type of ELD.

Ok, got that. But is there an OPTION to print them anyway from a 740 or an OverDryve with ELD if a guy just wants a paper backup?

I have to check, but the driver should be able to E-Mail themselves a copy also.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Approx mile 43 on 81 south in Virginia the GPS app froze and crashed the whole Overdrive device... Its uptime was only 6hrs and nothing else was launched during that time.

    1. Oh I know I don't have to take the routes offered. Often times I'm running different routes than generated by the device because of time or traffic. Successful Recalculation happening within 2 seconds is something I really appreciate.

    2. Before some wise guy steps in and sees my post and your response I need to be extremely clear that I do not use Google maps as guidance. I use it to scope out traffic ahead and to find (known) alternate routes on the fly. It's a tool. That's it. Just like the GPS. Lol.

Question for you Mark... Do you guys use Google traffic data? If not, why? It's on point, rarely inaccurate and the fact that it can tell us how long a delay is, is amazing. Using Google maps in conjunction with the GPS makes it much easier to plan breaks and everything.

One thing i think some of us would appreciate and love to see is a small display on the main screen showing if current traffic on our route in the next 100 miles is flowing good or if there's a delay ahead and how long that delay is, as reported by Google maps. Please?

Not to be a pain - but when someone says "not at this time" it generally means that the unit can do it, they just haven't given us the program to do it with.
So is there a time table to do so? or they didn't think of that?

No time table. If this is something needed then RM can look at it.

    Thanks,
    Mark
