I haven't looked though all 55 pages but I did do a thread search and came up empty, so I hope this question hasn't been asked/answered already.

I just picked up a 730 this weekend and I'm wondering if a couple of things are changeable:

    1. My yard is on a state highway that runs into a US highway but "Randy" tried to send me down city streets to get to the US highway. Can I make it prefer state highways or larger unless there's no other route?

    2. Can I get rid of that annoying sky picture at the top of the map?

    Otherwise, so far so good.

Might try changing your routing from allow all to avoid small roads and see if that helps.
If that doesn't maybe prefer freeways will do the trick.

As far as the sky, I doubt it.

So you mean they don't have the resources to get all that information? They prob have more money and resources than all the makers of gps units put together.

I guess my question is, how do I change the routing to avoid small roads?

Perfect! Thanks. I was looking for something named "route preferences" or similar. Putting "avoid small roads" under a "Freeways" control seems a little odd.

There is a Valero truck stop in Ninnekah, OK on the NE corner of 81 & 277.

Also the lane assist coming NE on i44 to i40 in OKC is unnecssarily confusing. Technically the i40 WB exit on the left is ~50' before the i40 EB exit on the right, but it should be treated as 1 interchange (e.g. "stay in the center 2 lanes to continue on i44" instead of "keep right to stay on i44. keep left to stay on i44."

    This thread has derailed seriously.

Google - Please start another thread. I don't wish to start comparing different Map companies on a support thread for the TND.

Maps - Business decision and out of my control. As I mentioned before, there are some things happening in the background for the maps for the x10 and x20 models. I cannot go into any details about this. I know the concerns at RM and how they handle the "concerns" is way above the me in the food chain.

Maps release date - Nothing public has been made yet.

Comments about "lack" of support - not called for. Business decisions out of my control are not support.

Future products - I cannot mention anything about them till RM makes a public announcement.

Many different sections or departments at RM. Not one department is in control of all facets of a product. If RM decides to go forward with other products then the prior products are not forgotten.

Let's get this thread back on track. You can browbeat me all day long about your concerns. I have passed your concerns to RM many times to a high level, but end in the end I cannot control the business decision RM is making about the maps..

    Thanks,
    Mark

Dunno if it changed names -- it did not show up in my trucks stops along route search (was heading N on 81)
