Still wondering if the problems with my 730 are common for this unit, or if it is defective.
My 720 never acted this way in the same areas under the same conditions.

The 730 GPS receiver is more sensitive than the 720. What electronics do you have around it? CB, Dash Cam, RF modulator?
PM me and I will give you my E-Mail address. I will need the start/stop locations and your Navi/User/User.ini file also so I can duplicate your settings.
Thanks,
mark -
If you are having routing issues please let me know the start/stop locations, PM me if need be. I will also need your Navi/User/User.ini file which you can E-Mail me. I will give my E-Mail in a PM. I used to post here, but the internet worms have taken over and spam city. I will also need your Navi/Log files.
Let me know in details what unit you have and on the Preferences/General/Contact and About/left side - OS Ver/Map Data Version.
I spend numerous hours tracking down bugs and routing issues. I use HERE (NavTeq), GoogleMaps, along with research on the internet for new data on ramps, construction areas, etc.
I have direct access to the Developers and the GIS dept at RM to assist in issues. Sometimes the issue is version related as I have access to the latest Beta Version so I can see if that issue has been resolved.
What I cannot do is control High level decisions and the versions that are released by RM or when released.
If you have an issue I want to know about it.
How to see on your side if a map issue or truck issue.
Change to Car mode. If it routes correctly then an truck restriction issue, if still routing wrong, then a map issue.
If a truck restriction issue, change the trailer to 96"/48' to see if a STAA/Non-STAA issue.
It could be as simple as an incorrect weight restriction or missing restriction.
By no means are you testing Beta Software. The code is complicated and modules do "act" up when other items are corrected. This is frustrating sometimes as I know you spent money on a TND. But RM and myself have your best interest at heart.
I will work with anybody to find your issue, even on week nights and weekends. Prior notice needs to be set up.
Right now I am dealing with a few Hotspot issues on a 720 and a couple of 730's. This is slow going as we try to narrow the issue down to software, hardware, or hotspot.
Thanks,
Mark -
I saw on another thread that someone mentioned that the Map screen is too cluttered. On the 530/730 there is a button on the map screen to assist in this.
It should be on the 520/720 also I think on the next released version.
Thanks,

This new rm is junk my 510 is much better, why I say it's junk is this.
1) every couple of days I get a stupid error message that pops up when I have route already planned and moving down the road all of a sudden like clock work here comes the error message.
2) i shut the gps off every night every 5-8 start ups, meaning turning it on the unit comes up with another load failed screen. So have to turn off usually 2 times before it will fire up and run.
3) I will do compare route, and if I have to detour after putting in the better route this dumb thing won't re-route automatically. I have to turn unit off and back on in order to get it to follow and lead from where I am at.
4) tolls don't work still (to me seems like either false advertising or bait and switch you choose.
5) I can do begin route and like the route it wants to take go 5 miles down the road stop somewhere go do what I need to do come back and now I see I have a new route that is farther than original route and takes allot of back roads. And I cannot get the original route back I have tried both shortest and fastest will not put up original route.
i do like some of the features that I am able to use, but really getting fed up with this dumb thing and about to throw it out the window at 80 mph probably only way to fix it and go back to my 510
on a side note I haven't saved any locations so no saved locations and have been only saving fuel. Haven't used breadcrumbs or any other features as of yet afraid it will be worse than way it's working now. If one can really call it working. -

I keep hearing about a new SW Version and or maps none ever available.
When I first turn mine on I get a message Maps are over a year old.
Lot of good it did me to get Lifetime Maps if they're never new ones released.
Was going to suggest some new features, but my next one certainly WONT be a Rand McNally anyway.Lowa3468 Thanks this. -
Evidentially in the latest update for the 510, they finally fixed the rest area issue somewhat by listing "Full Facility" for restrooms or "partial facility" for no restrooms. Also have "Information center" which is usually a welcome center with restrooms.
If that screenshot you are showing is a 530/730, looks like they finally made the local time numbers on a solid white relief backround...GOOD; then they took away the timezone indicator...BAD.
