It came up to the home screen, went to our last route, then got vertical, wide, colorful lines across the screen.

Thanks, try to capture or reply to the last post that I responded with to you. Saves me from going back and finding the last post to see what the conversation was about.

You are using the supplied DC cord that came with it? IF so, contact RM Customer support. You may have a bad DC charger or unit.

The DC cord should say on the DC end - 5vdc/2am or 2.5 amp output.

    Thanks,
    Mark

While driving through Lake County Illinois I find all the county route numbers to be wrong. Everyone road that I was on the 520 spoke the wrong number. Why is this? Right in RM's own back yard.

Give me example's of the road numbers or names. This way I can try to duplicate.

    Thanks,
    Mark

As you can see on this jpeg I have numbers circled in red. These are the numbers on the signs at the intersections. The 520 announces a different number. I don't remember what the 520 says but it may be the # 39. The #39 is not on a sign at the side of the road. So when listening to the 520 I might think I'm lost. All of the "A" numbered signs on the roadway are different from what 520 says. I'm no map expert but maybe the "A" numbers are not county route numbers.

But the same signs in other counties Example Dupage county intersection of traveling north on Kress Rd and turning right on Hawthorne Ln now that sign and the 520 say the same thing. CR18. Why is it Lake county is different I don't know.

Maybe next time I go into Lake county I will take a few snapshots of exactly what I see and hear. Since I'm not from "out of town" this didn't throw me off track since I was following the street names.

When saving a location to the address book I find it frustrating to not be able to move a cursor to edit the name and address. The 520 asks me if I want to save the location 'as is' or edit (yes or no) Since I always want to add the name of the company or job site I always choose to edit the entry. I do want to keep the address in the description but I would like to add the name in front of it. Otherwise when searching through the list it get's bad when seeing all my entries listed in ascending order and the screen is not wide enough to show the name. Well sure it's wide enough but I have to read through the line to see the name I am looking for. To much in a hurry to have to do that and search for my glasses while driving. i'm not sitting in a rest area while doing all this. Usually at a red light while getting the phone call to head somewhere. I would like to be able to look down the list seeing names at the left not house numbers.

Yes i can get the job done but I have to CLR out the address that the 520 imputs and retype the whole thing. Hey I'm driving doing 10 things at once i got no time to be typing plus once I CLR it I don't know what the coordinates were to retype.

in the pic I added Lafarge Joliet to the end but I would like to have been able to click at the left so I could enter it before the street number.

edit ... Well I just tried something and learned that if I CLR it and just enter the name I want it will automatically save the address with it....So cool beans I'm happy.

The truck speed limit on Boughton Rd is in fact posted 35mph. The orange 35 icon is correct on the map. My questions are when i click on the orange icon and the text screen comes up and it has this (see pic). I have noticed that clicking on the speed limit icon on any road makes the text screen come up. Everyone so far has text already typed out. I find what is typed is incorrect. Why is this? and what are we suppose to type in there? Am I correct that what is typed gets sent to RM? What is a preferred format for sending in correct speed limit info? Just the mph or is any other text needed?

The text that is already in there who typed it? Why is it pre filled in? 20mph is wrong.

    Hello Mark,
I have a TND 710 that I purchased early in 2012. The serial number is 710-049179-EL-12W13 V3.4. I have been having lockup problems recently. The unit will be fine for about 4 hours, and then will lock up. It seems to charge fine on 110v. at home, but when I plug it into 12v. in the truck, its not charging correctly. The green and red charging lights next to the USB port blink or go off frequently as I drive. The plug can be wiggled around and does not seem to stay plugged in securely. I just purchased a new 12v. Rand McNally charging plug thinking that might solve the problem, but no luck. I installed a brand new 12v receptacle in the truck to make sure there was nothing wrong with the connection at that point. Is there any way of making the charging connection more secure? My truck does not have air ride, and probably rides rougher than most. I have been happy with the performance of the unit, and would appreciate any suggestions.
    Thank you,
    Bill M.

I'm sure it's been answered, but any idea about when the new map update is due out for the 720? I looked back a few pages and didn't find anything.
    thanks!
