If you try to delete anything out of history by single line you will get an error. Oops on our part. Rand is looking at the fix.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Thanks for your reply to my earlier query...

Im finally parked somewhere with internet access long enough that I had my second opportunity to plug my TND700 into the computer and check for new updates.. Sure enough, it says a new dock version is available and updates,etc.... Finally able to input email address too to get the construction maps......

Problem though comes when I read the release notes..... Its the same version I downloaded and installed last week, wondering if I got the same dock version too..? Im not the most keen on all this stuff. I didnt lose any functionality on the TND700 or have not incurred any problems with my laptop.. just kinda wondering why I got the same update 2 separate times.......

Also, still have the brightness issue. I turn off unit with brightness set on highest level... Turn unit back on when I roll again... Brightness reset back to lowest setting.....

Slight issue on our end. If you have TND Dock .86 and version 1760 on the TND you are up todate.

I send your brightness issue to the engineer.

    Thanks,
    Mark

An error? The unit crashes!!! I found this bug right off the bat and a few others but gave up being a guinea pig for Rand.

This bug in particular is QA 101. It's obvious Rand does not have a professional test and QA department. EVERYTIME a change is made no matter how small the clock starts over.

Can I delete all the history
Can I delete just one entry in the history
Can I delete the second line in a multi line history
Can I delete the last line in a multi line history.

This bug is not just an every day bug. It is a reference to a null or invalid pointer. One of the most dangerous bugs as it can randomly destroy anything or corrupt the stack and return from a function call to whatever the heck it wants to.

I bought the Garmin 465 for truck and very happy with it. I still run the TND500 for the IFTA miles tracking although when you try to get the data it errors out of course. No big surprise.

The issue has been fixed and it was not as critical error as you suggest.

Do you have trouble exporting your state log miles to your computer? The export is set to excel 2003. Do you run an eariler version?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Ok.
I ran the program, and then updated again.
The unit was working fine, just all my info was a month old. Changes to my odometer, addresses etc I had made over a month were gone. No big deal.
    Unit worked fine.
    Till this morning.
I turned it off last night for the first time since this happened. Now it is right back to the fatal application error in Navi exe.
    So will not work again.

    Any suggestions?

Well, an hour on the phone, and allot of deleting and restoring later it seems to be working again.
Just have to wait for the weekend and try to get the maps up to date again.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.
