Speaking of the unit knowing where it is, there's a problem with the bar at the bottom that shows current road, nearest town, etc. We talked about it before and we thought that it had to have a route programed to work. That's not quite right. You have to be in motion for it to work. I've had a route set and the bar is blank when stopped. When moving it will show current road and all that whether it has a route or not.

I think both you and I agree, coding could done for the "folllow me" route, but now it is a company decsion based upon many factors.

The traffic feature is still on the feature list but kind of up in the air. As previously stated, Traffic is put out by Clear Channel. It is not total city coverage as you can find out by searching for Clear Channel on the web. Usually it is around major cities, but the timelyness of making sure correct information is broadcasted is again a slight issue.

    Thanks,
    Mark

The bar is keyed to movement. We have changed that to allow "last" location to be displayed. I have to put a TND on ver 1573 to see if it was done for that version. I am on a later Beta Version and it does remember last location even on the "cog" page off the main map page.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Ver 1573? Kind've thought 1472 is the latest version. Just updated the unit again a few minutes ago.

ver 1573 for the TND 700
ver 1472 for the TND 500

ver 1573 is the next version for the TND 500, so I need to check to see if the feature was added as stated in the above post.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I am working daily with RM to try to release the next version. Their are some factors I cannot control in the allowing of the release. RM knows how important this next version is to you.

    Thanks,
    Mark

This is a support forum I understand. Workforce connection said they will buy me a Motor Carriers GPS. I like Rand McNally products. With that said if I have them purchase me the TND700 are the bugs worked out or should I ask them for the TND 500? I am new to trucking and want the best and they will pay for it. Thanks

Hell, ask them for the 700. If they say no you can ask them about the 500. Get the map too, either way.

I have the map the laminated pages they offered to purchase me any GPS I want up to $600. I want to make sure the 700 is not full of too many bugs.
